Meet Jillian!

Hello everyone, Hannah here once again! I thought it would be fun to write a blog about our newest employee, Jillian Watson. Jillian has two children and dreams of owning her own business designing children's clothing one day. She loves camping, and enjoys Starbucks. She loves Jesus and often serves at Church of Hope. Her favorite seasons are autumn and winter because of the cooler weather. She and Amanda, our warehouse manager, share the same birthday (July 19th). For more fun facts about our business, please visit our Facebook page and follow us on Instagram. Interested in learning more about our Craft-N-Cut software? Sign up for Hope's seminar now!

Glass Etching Excitement!

Hi all, Hannah here with a fun new blog post for you today featuring more glass etching techniques. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1) Find a jar remove the label with the goof off

2) Put a fund blurb about you can ask with cream or mom's newest thing is a power glass at your a.k.a. girly power tools

3) Watch the webinar from Hope's last Craft-N-Cut video to design a sweet tea logo

4) Cut it out using your digital cutter

5) Read it and apply transfer tape

6) Stick it onto the glass, remove the transfer tape and use a heat gun to remove any air bubbles (tape off any glass that you don't want to accidentally etch)

7) Etch as desired using cream or a power etcher

8) Wash with soap and water and remove the vinyl

9) Enjoy your sweet tea

PS all the design elements are found inside of the Craft-N-Cut software free of charge, complements of Hope Yoder from Designs By Hope Yoder, Inc!

Talk 2 Me

Hello to all, Hannah here once again! I have a fun new project for you today! When Olivia and I were younger, it used to be easy for mom to sew dresses and matching purses for us but as we got older, she had to get more creative with creating projects that are age- appropriate. This project was created with our Foto Booth Props Embroidery Collection. This collection is also perfect for embroidering in-the-hoop Photo Booth props.

If you own the Craft-N-Cut software, a digital cutter, and this embroidery CD, you can easily make a vinyl decal for the back of your phone! Did you know that Craft-N-Cut is the ONLY software that produces automated layered vinyl registration marks? This makes it easy to align multiple colors of vinyl as shown here. The registration marks are the squares.

  Step 1:
purchase the Foto Booth Props CD from your local dealer

Step 2: import the Foto Booth SVG file.

Step 3: use the layered vinyl registration mark automated function

Step 4: run the design through Save2Cut

Step 5: cut out the design on your digital cutter, weed and apply

For fun projects like this one, please visit our Facebook page. Be sure to follow us on Instagram to keep in touch with all of our events and activities!

A day in the life at Designs By Hope Yoder!

Hello everyone, Hannah here! Now that I am an official employee at Designs By Hope Yoder, I thought it would be fun to give you a behind the scenes at what it's like working in the office with Hope. I work in the warehouse and assist Amanda with inventory and shipping out orders. My day usually begins around 8am. I come into the office, punch in, make some coffee and head to the back. I usually start by assembling products. After this, I check my email. Next I review the orders coming in and ensure they are correctly counted for inventory. Now onto packing orders to be sent out! This is a very important process, both in counting the products and correctly labeling each box to be sent out. For lunch, we usually go out to eat which is always fun, especially when your boss buys your meal. After lunch, it's crunch time, I may begin by emailing some commercial licenses out and assembling more products. My day finishes around 5pm when I clock out. Follow us on Facebook and add us on Instagram for more sneak peaks of working at Designs By Hope Yoder!

Mr. Spud Muffin...

Hi all, Hannah here! Today I thought I would blog about Mr. Spud Muffin. This CD is perfect for a variety of projects! Did you know you can embroider him in the hoop and use the SVG files to make an vinyl decal to put on a cup? You can even create a heat transfer vinyl to make a funny T-shirt using our SVG artwork! You can also make interchangeable faces with our in-the-hoop embroidery collection. Watch this short video on our web page which shows you how to import the faces onto the body of Mr. Potato Head. Fun fact, Mr. Potato Head was invented by Hasbro in 1952, it was the first toy to be advertised via television. Check out our Facebook page for more fun projects! Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress!

Hello everyone, Hannah here! One of our favorite ways to celebrate summer vacation is taking a family trip to Orlando to stay at a resort hotel for the weekend! What better state to vacation in than the one we call home! The grounds at the Hyatt are beautiful. They contain pools with caves, waterslides, a drawbridge and several restaurants! There are plenty of chairs for soaking up the Florida sunshine. The hotel also contains a golf course and a lake with water sports like sailing and kayaking. We have made many good memories here and taken numerous pictures to document our fun times! For more pictures like these, follow us on Facebook  and add us on Instagram!

Hello everyone, Hannah here! I thought it would be fun to give you another easy DIY project for this blog. One of the most trending forms of art is crayon paintings! They are a quick and easy way to add bright hues to your space! It's as easy as 1, 2, 3! You will need: a poster board, glue, a pack of crayons, artificial flowers and some stickers. First, glue the pack of crayons onto the poster board. You can arrange them by color or however else you would like. Next, blow dry the crayons on the highest heat setting until they melt. Once the melted crayons are dry, you can glue the artificial flowers onto the poster board in whatever arrangement you choose. You can even add stickers to create words and add to the artwork! The possibilities are endless. Follow us on Facebook and add us on Instagram for more DIY projects like this one!

Every Girl's Dream!

Hi all, Hannah here! One of my favorite childhood memories is definitely the time when mom took us to the American Girl store in Atlanta, Georgia. I thought I'd share it with you. Growing up, Olivia and I would eagerly await our next issue of the American Girl magazine. We always wanted to get new clothes and accessories for our dolls. Mom treated us with a trip to the store after we helped her with on of her trade shows. I remember feeling like I was in heaven, there were accessories and dolls as far as the eye could see! We even had little high chairs to hold our dolls in while we ate in the cafe inside the store! Hands down one of the best trips ever! For more fun posts, please visit our Facebook page. Glass Etching!

Hello everyone, Hannah here with a quick inspiration on glass etching. You will need:
  • Craft-N-Cut software
  • Oracal 651 vinyl
  • Etching creme
  • Plate from Target (with no raised writing on bottom)
  1. Use the Text tool to create a series of words using two different fonts.
  2. Add two circles on outer edge for frame the words on the bottom of the plate
  3. Run design through Save2Cut slecting your brand of digital cutter and VINYL for the material. Copy the cut file USB stick or transfer to your cutter using the recipe from Save2Cut.
  4. Weed the vinyl and apply to the bottom of the plate. Add some tape so creme won’t run.
  5. Follow directions on etching creme and that’s it.

Cracker Barrel Fun!

Hi all, Hannah here! Today I thought it would be fun to give you an inside sneak peak on one of our favorite pitstops on our road trips! Hope is a Southern belle to the core, she loves a good southern meal! Because of this Cracker Barrel is usually one of the first places we stop on a road trip to get some fried okra, sweet tea, biscuits and gravy galore! When Olivia and I were younger, mom would always let us get some candy from the gift shop, sometimes she would even buy us a Pink Panther or The Three Stooges dvd to watch on the way to wherever we were headed. Cracker Barrel is always a great place to gather together as a family and make some great memories, especially on road trips! Poodle Skirts

Hello everyone, Hannah here! Lately I've been wandering down memory lane to dig up ideas to share with you all! I came across this picture from our preschool days at West Florida Christian School. Each school year, we had spirit week in which we got to dress down instead of wearing our usual uniforms. One of the themes was the 1950's, all the boys had their leather jackets and sunglasses and all the girls wore poodle skirts and sweaters. Mom made these felt skirts for us and even added an appliqué poodle to make the skirts stand out! They were a big hit with all of our teachers and classmates! Cowboys Stadium!

Hello everyone, Hannah here! Today I wanted to share one of my favorite memories with you! One summer, while mom was at a trade show event in Arlington, Texas, dad decided to take us on a tour of the Dallas Cowboys stadium! Marv is an avid Cowboys fan, so this tour was a must for us! GO DALLAS! We left mom behind to work our vendor booth while we waltzed around the Cowboys stadium with stars in our eyes. Hello everyone, Hannah here! One of our favorite places to go here at Designs By Hope Yoder is Ikea. For those of you who have yet to hear about Ikea, it's a stylish place to shop for furniture on a budget! Most of our furniture in our offices was purchased at, you guessed it, IKEA! We are fortunate enough to have an Ikea relatively close to us, in Tampa, to be exact. We often make it a fun trip to drive up to Ikea for the day in order to shop for new office supplies and furniture. These trips are the kind of outings that make working for Hope Yoder the absolute best! For more updates on such activities, please follow us on Instagram and like us on Facebook as well.

The dream team on our way to Ikea, it's all in a days work!

Work Hard, Play Hard

Hi all, Hannah here! Although our posts on Instagram and Facebook  might suggest our team at Designs By Hope Yoder is always working, we like to take some time off every now and then. Hope always says, "Work hard, play hard" and we take this quote very seriously. One of our favorite types of vacations to take is a cruise. We have cruised on Royal Caribbean, Princess Cruises, Carnival and even Disney Cruises! We can't pick a favorite so we frequently cruise! I thought it might be fun to insert some pictures of our most favorite vacations on the high seas.

Baby Shower Bib

Hi all, Hannah here! I recently was invited to one of my friend's baby showers and was unsure of what to give her. As per usual, Hope came up with a clever and crafty idea to create a baby shower bib! This Bib was created using heat transfer vinyl and the elephant design from our Teeny Tiny Embroidery Collection.  For more fun gift ideas, please visit our website. Summer Sewing School

Hello everyone, Hannah here! Today I was reminiscing of summers past in Huntsville, Alabama. Each summer, my entire family would pack our bags and drive from our home in Sarasota Florida, to Huntsville, Alabama. While Hope was an educator for the Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion, Olivia and I would attend the Sewing School for kids. We made so many memories there and were always eager to return. Our favorite event was watching and even participating in the fashion show and helping in our vendor booth on teacher's selling night. How I miss those days! Hope's Sale's Pitch

Hi everyone, Hannah here! Today I'd like to transport you back in time, specifically to the time before fancy embroidery machines were even available. Hope had begged Marv to let her buy a computerized (not embroidery) sewing machine, and his answer was only if she saved up all the money for it. Hope's solution was to work extra hours, on her days off, as a Dental Hygienist in order to earn more money. However, this was not Hope's only way of earning extra money...she decided if Mary Kay and Tupperware could host home parties, then so could she. She came up with the idea to create her own t-shirts composed of doilies which she bought from thrift stores all over town and buttons and glitter which she glued on to the t-shirts. Prior to 2007, Hope sold many of these t-shirts for $35 a piece. Although Hope didn't really know what she was doing, she had a good attitude and a confident persona and people bought them away. Funny but true, this past Christmas, our family was staying in Pennsylvania at our Aunt Carolyn's house. Carolyn was talking to mom one night and asked Hope, "Remember when you used to sell those shirts? I think I still have mine." After that she found the shirt and showed mom and we all laughed about it. Hope has come a long way. Check out our Instagram and follow us on Facebook

Tieks-The comfiest shoes EVER!

Hello to all, Hannah here! Mom has been going on and on about her new, favorite pair of shoes...

"My first pair of Tieks. I was so excited for them to arrive. When they came they were packaged as pretty as a Tiffany box! Not that I've ever purchased anything from Tiffany, but a girl can dream right? I've just heard rumors that it's a heavenly, other-wordly experience. Besides, almost everyone my age knows the color of Tiffany! What's so great about these shoes, you may ask?"

  1. Handmade Italian Leather
  2. They fold up to take up less space when not in use
  3. They come with a little pouch to slip in your clutch for your Tieks and a big pouch for your High Heels (which you might wear before you slip into these)
"So I have to thank Stephanie for getting me into trouble. Over dinner one night, she asked if I owned a pair of Tieks. At that point I had never even heard of them; now I want some in every color! I love the signature on the heel of the shoe. So next time you see me, take a look and see if I'm sporting my new Tieks. This pair is feather grey, however it appears a s more of the perfect nude color which should be a staple in every girl's wardrobe."
